I have ten years of teaching experience in various roles in the United States and the Czech Republic, with a focus in middle grades math and science.

 

I graduated from Macaulay Honors at Queens College with a certificate to teach High School Biology in New York. I taught in several states - New York, Nevada, and Vermont - before moving to Prague, Czech Republic. In the last six years, I have taught in two different international schools in Prague. In my most recent role, I was a middle years math and science teacher.

 

When I moved to Prague, I began learning Czech, a notoriously difficult language to master. This learning journey has given me insight to many of the problems that my students face, such as language barriers, frustration, or lack of confidence. This learning journey has made more a more patient teacher.

 

I will be starting a Master's in Ecology at the University of South Bohemia in September 2024.

I have 6 years of teaching experience at international schools in Prague, Czech Republic. Subjects taught ranged from 4th grade general primary education to Year 13 IGCSE College level Business Studies, English, and Global Perspectives.

 

I also have gained quite a lot of experience in tutoring over the years, from basic math and literacy lessons with grammar school students, to middle school math and physics. 

 

I graduated eons ago from CUNY Queens College with a degree in Environmental Biology. Since then I’ve held many different positions in a wide variety of fields in science, conservation, and education. I am currently enrolled in a Master’s in Ecology program at the South Bohemian University.

 

Especially in topics like math and science, I have found it important to foster my students' sense of confidence, determination, and enjoyment. To do this, I review foundational knowledge, provide content-specific practice, and make connections to the real world.
